An underground concrete steam tunnel was discovered on site. Inside the underground tunnel is ACM thermal system insulation, so the tunnel will need to be abated and hauled off site. To do this, the subcontractor will build a full negative pressure containment followed by bulk-loading the remaining concrete structure. This work plan is approved by the DEP. Air testing and post-abatement visual inspection will be conducted by the owner's third party consultant with results reviewed by DEP on a daily basis.
